The Worm (2023) Review
I'm somewhat speechless right now. It's not every day you see a short animated horror movie that is longer than Dye Fantasy, shorter than It Follows, yet gives you the best feelings from both. What I liked even more is that, even as the backgrounds are richly layered, the film nonetheless gives us that feeling we would hope for in a production from the 10s, yet done right. Granted, I was alert all throughout the film, expecting jump scares, gruesomeness , etc. Yet I got none of that. Instead I got the exact same feeling I got from The Ring in the best way possible:
Like I was handed a cursed piece of the newly broken fourth wall by the end..
