Terrifier 3 Review
As I watched the credits roll while I got out of my seat I couldn't help but stop and look at the screen as high as two stories. It was then that I asked myself: is this seriously how the 80s felt? And if so, is this really what it took to return to them? At its best this movie was a perfect deconstruction reconstruction of torture porn/splatter (as I mentioned in my review of tbe 2nd film) and Mr. Leone is essentially a seasoned pro at crossing the line for the sake of the genre. At its worst it's certainly not as good as Terrifier 2 (though lets just say it at least goes to even further lengths than Maxxxine yet has more subjective finesse, not that both movies aren't on equal footing), even though it has still come a long way since the first film. I guess I can't really say much else about this film. For one it certainly goes to darker yet more satisfyingly confrontational territory (thanks to Victoria's merciless bombast). Plus I have to hand it to Mr. Leone for always being none the wiser. Whether it's due to handling budgets or making Art the clown a perfect visual metaphor on what fans seem to want nowadays.
This especially during the most likely now iconic shower scene....
