My horror movie reviews

Let the Right one In Review

I remember wanting to watch this movie yet at the same time not wanting to. I had grown tired of vampire films thanks to Twilight and didn’t know what to expect from this. Yet the fact they happened to play it near my theater defied the odds, so I gave it a chance. Part of what made this film work is the way it had all the over-the-top (and even relentless) cruelty of a horror movie yet made sure it wasn’t the focal point of the film. Another part is the fact that thanks to this meditative approach of developing its characters we’re given time to digest it after it ends as much as go along with the journey. It’s a sweet movie for most of its runtime despite really taking advantage of its near two hours to establish its narrative.
