Halloween (1978) Review

This was, for the most part at least, the Psycho of its decade. Meaning it was about a serial killer yet the horror stemmed mostly from the elaborate substance rather than the style. That’s not to say it doesn't know how to be effectively creepy. It certainly also, for better and for worse, uses this to break the mold from either other exploitative horrors of its decade like the Exorcist or even Alien thanks to its borderline less-is-more approach. What works works and it introduced the world to Jamie Lee Curtis, what more could you ask for?
