My horror movie reviews

Geometria Review

At the time of being into the director’s films this caught my fancy. For the most part it feels mostly like a retelling of The Monkey’s Paw with a laid back 80s horror aesthetic with a bit of Black comedy for good measure. What I got from it now mostly is how Del Toro essentially corrects his mistake from his debut short, Doña Lupe, and makes sure the budget matches the product by shortening the length. Granted it’s a lot darker despite being a proper horror film by comparison, despite also being less violent. Still, Mr. Del Toro nevertheless allows his strengths to more than shine through here before they would go on to be expanded in feature length films once he made his debut throughout the 90s.
