My horror movie reviews

Drag me to Hell Review

Before the Cabin in the woods made horror movies creative again and It: Chapter one made them human again, Sam Raimi at least gave me a cure from all the films that desperately wanted to copy The Ring. And the best part is that the story itself feels like a modern parable. In fact I would go as far as to call this film a Sam Raimi version of The Exorcist given how its premise borders from that movie to a more updated Evil Dead vibe, especially during that one scene with the goat. Yeah, it does flirt with a borderline R Rating, particularly in scenes like the nosebleed and Ganush’s head getting squished in with some of the most hilariously bad CG you’ve ever seen. Overall it proved that horror movies could be creative and scary while still having their own unique takes.
