Batman: Dead End Review
I feel what made this movie the best kind of different is that it bridged between the type of imagination that was wonderfully inspired with the type that was disorganized. The best way I can describe it is from the lyrics of Kate Bushâs âCloudbustingâ song: âlike my yo-yo that glowed in the dark what made it special made it dangerousâ. On one hand this idea sounds too silly on paper unless youâre finishing grade school. However, to reiterate what I said in Marabunta, even if that disorganized nature comes at a risk in itself, a gradeschoolerâs imagination, and point of view, can still be pretty powerful and inspired despite it being very akin to a glow in the dark yo-yo when harnessed by an adult. Hence why this is not only less than an hour long but it makes sure we get exactly what we expect from a premise like this in order to maintain that inspired yet disorganized feel without tipping too much into either side in less than welcoming ways (especially once all three franchises almost completely disband). Plus it was neat to see Batman gain a look that was a mixture between his classic 60s look and Tim Burtonâs aesthetic, while the Joker one that wouldnât be used again until Matt Reevesâ take.
