28 Days Later Review
This might be the first time in my life where a movie scene was just as horrifying with or without context (Concerning a character's death scene an hour in which I spoiled myself once). But with that out of the way I remember being somewhat scared of the movie from the mere poster. Granted I was barely finishing Primary/Elementary school, so that would be the main reason. Now it's essentially a movie that likely started the fast zombie craze, or at least inspired films like Shaun of the Dead, Zombieland, Snyder's Dawn of the Dead, I Am Legend, etc. Granted in some parts it feels like it was inspired by Night of the Comet whilst in others you can definitely tell it was written by the same guy who did Civil War. Though I feel as though it works just as good, if not better, as a survival horror, during the final act. Without spoiling too much the infected zombies are far from the real villains when Jim and Selena are saving Hannah. Overall it's an impressive Nu Zombie flick, though it was strangely tame compared to Mr. Boyle's more reality oriented fare by the end of 28 Days Later's decade.
